1. Reach out to a group/congregation: At our invitation, the Sierra Club will hold its 2008 Environmental Justice Annual Conference at the Church on Saturday, November 8, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.. The theme this year is: "Surviving & Thriving Now & Into the Future." It's free and open to the public. There will be workshops on a number of topics and the keynote speaker will be Charles Allen III from New Orleans, who has been working there since Hurricane Katrina to rebuild the City and the Lower Ninth Ward, in particular. He is also a Board Member of the U.S. Green Building Council.
2. Investigate the feasibility of establishing a "green business" in a neighborhood
needing employment opportunities. (Model on a successful program called "Green Collar").
3. Establish a resource for Memphis/Shelby providing information, calendars; links and materials. Many links are now available on our wiki.
